According to a Washington Post article, rapper Lil Wayne (born Dwayne Carter) is appearring in a New York court today for a hearing related to to a 2007 gun possession charge. The hearing is is to decide the general scientific acceptance of low copy number DNA profiling. The prosecution is trying to use this type of DNA profiling to tie the rapper to a gun found on his tour bus after a concert.
