Here a follow-up on the fundraiser held in our benefit a few weeks ago. The Miami Herald ran a blurb about the results of the fundraiser, which were outstanding.

High school students raise $13,000 for the innocent
High School students from American Heritage School in Plantation raised $13,000 for innocent people who have been released from prison. Bowls [sic] for the Innocent, a bowling fundraiser, took place April 24 at AMF Davie Lanes and attracted more than 80 participants. Money raised by donations was given to the Innocence Project of Florida, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding and freeing innocent people in Florida prisons. The event was organized by 11th grade students Matt Covert and Spencer Hennings, both officers in the school’s Pre-Law society.

A huge thanks to Matt and Spencer and to all those who participated because they understand the plight of our exonerees, who still struggle to live a normal life even after being released.
